Prosthetic prescipcion (Simulation)
with full 3D model development

The objective of the project was to design a trasfemoral prosthesis that was functional, aesthetic and economical. To do this, a study of the needs and requirements of the potential users was carried out, as well as the characteristics and advantages of the existing prostheses in the market. The Autodesk Inventor software was used to model the geometry of the prosthesis, which consisted of a suction socket with two possible molds, a hydraulic knee and a dynamic foot. Meshmixer software was used to generate a three-dimensional mesh of the prosthesis and optimize its weight and strength. The most suitable materials for each component were selected, such as carbon fiber, aluminum and polyurethane. The performance of the prosthesis was evaluated by simulations, verifying that it met the design criteria established. It was concluded that the designed prosthesis was a viable and competitive alternative to improve the quality of life of target individual.
